Artworks created for temples (overview)

All artworks in the Temple Fine Art Collection have been acquired by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for presentation in temples constructed and maintained by the Church.  Because "Latter-day Saint temples are considered houses of God, a place of holiness and peace separate from the preoccupations of the world,"   (see Temples in the online Newsroom of The Church of Jesus Christ) the Church acquires not only the original paintings produced for presentation in its temples, but all copyrights to the artworks as well... Annual Spring Salon Features There Is Help For You by Elspeth Young

Elspeth Young’s recently completed oil painting of Patience Loader is featured in the 92nd Annual Spring Salon sponsored by the Springville Museum of Art, Springville, Utah.  Out of the nearly 800 artworks submitted, 230 were selected for exhibition.  Elspeth was also one of ten artists to receive a cash award for her artwork.

The frame for the painting was created by Ashton Young.
