The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.  He restoreth my soul...

Psalms 23:1-3

The story behind He Restoreth My Soul

The model, born in Mexico, is of the Mestizo people.

Symbolism in He Restoreth My Soul

The color scheme of the painting suggests the splendor of a Mexican sunrise.  The figure holds a bouquet of double-flowering dahlias, a flower native to Mexico and the symbol of commitment for eternity in the language of flowers.  The purple wrap draped about the figure symbolizes integrity, and divine nature as a daughter of Heavenly parents.  The white gown was inspired by traditional wedding dresses of Mexico.
