USAT U.S. Grant Postcard (BenHaven archives reference no.: 4.14.0029) This photograph of the USAT U.S. Grant is printed on a post card postmarked June 6, 1939, Angel Island, California. Alfred R. Young's message to his parents, written in pencil on the back of the card, says: Dear Folks - Just a card of a picture of the boat we will go on. It is the U.S. Grant. Will write later. Love Al.

The printing on the image is backwards in the original and says "J. D. Givens", "Presidio, S.F.", and "U.S.A.T. Grant".
