New user interface being implemented for The BenHaven Archives Online

Young All of the documentary content of the wiki that has been available since 2009 at The BanHaven Archives Online (www.benhanvenarchives.org) will now be hosted as a sub-domain of www.alyoung.com.  One of the primary objectives for this change is to facilitate ongoing management and expansibility of content.

Contacting The BenHaven Archives

The BenHaven Archives does not offer access to its papers and artifacts (except through digital copies), nor is it possible to visit or tour the Archives. The Archives is neither staffed nor housed to provide such services.

In connection with My Father's Captivity, Al Young Studios published digital copies of most of the original materials, upon which the book is based, in 2009.  This was done as a public service, with the objective of providing free online access to families and descendants of prisoners of war, as well as access for students, writers, researchers, and other interested parties... The BenHaven Archives: Jerry Berg publishes evaluation of Archive's POW shortwave radio message collection

Young Anyone interested in the 340 images of POW messages currently available at the Internet site for The BenHaven Archives will benefit greatly from reading "POWMonitoring and the Messages of Alfred R. Young" by historian and author Jerry Berg. His review evaluates the Archives' collection in terms of such topics as demographics, message-relay formats used by shortwave listeners, message content, Radio Tokyo's presentation of the messages, and message recordings.
